What Your Group Will Experience at Lovely Hen
This is a guided, kid-friendly farm visit designed to be educational, interactive, and FUN—with plenty of time to explore, laugh, and make memories.
1) Welcome + Farm Safety Rules (5 minutes)
We’ll greet your group, review simple rules, and get everyone ready for a smooth visit.
2) Meet the Chickens (the favorite part!)
Kids will get to:

See a variety of chickens up close

Learn what chickens eat, drink, and need to stay healthy

Watch chicken behavior and hear fun chicken facts

Enjoy a supervised interaction moment (gentle petting/holding when appropriate)
3) Egg & Coop Learning (simple + exciting)

Where eggs come from (kid-friendly explanation)

Daily chicken chores (feeding, watering, collecting)

How we keep chickens happy, clean, and healthy
4) Garden + “Fresh Things” Walk
A sensory garden moment where students can:

Smell and taste kid-safe herbs (when available)

Learn how fruits and veggies grow

Enjoy flowers, plants, and the peaceful feel of the farm
5) Break Time Under the Tents
We provide a shaded break area with picnic tables so your group can relax, snack, and reset.
6) Outdoor Fun + Farm Activities (Includes an Egg Hunt!)
The last portion of the visit is all about movement, fresh air, and fun. Depending on age group and season, your kids may enjoy:

Lovely Hen Egg Hunt (Plastic Eggs!) — a supervised plastic egg hunt around our outdoor area (weather-permitting).
Younger children can do a guided hunt so everyone gets eggs.

Farm-themed coloring or mini craft

Bubbles + outdoor play time

Nature moments: birdwatching, listening for farm sounds, and “what do you notice?” learning

Music + movement: a fun farm song moment to end the day happy

Suggested Visit Length
Most visits run 60–90 minutes depending on age group and activities.
Chaperones
To keep it safe and smooth, we recommend:

Preschool: 1 adult per 5 children

K–2: 1 adult per 7 children

Grades 3–5: 1 adult per 10 children
Policies (Simple + Clear)
Arrival: Please arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in.
Late Arrivals: Late groups may have a shortened visit so we can respect other bookings.
Weather: This is an outdoor farm experience. If weather becomes unsafe (storms/high winds), we will reschedule. Light drizzle may still run—dress accordingly.
Food & Allergies: We provide water + chips. Please share allergy needs ahead of time and bring any required snacks/medications for your group.
What to Wear: Closed-toe shoes are required. Dress for the weather (layers, hats, sunscreen, rain boots if muddy).
Safety Rules (Kid-Friendly)

Stay with your teacher/chaperone at all times

Walk—no running near animals or fences

Use gentle hands and quiet voices around chickens

No feeding animals unless a Lovely Hen team member says it’s okay

Wash/sanitize hands after animal time and before eating

Working Farm Notice: Lovely Hen is an active farm. Ground may be uneven; you may encounter insects, mud, animals, and outdoor elements.
Assumption of Risk: By attending, guests acknowledge the natural risks of being on a farm and agree to follow staff instructions.
Photo/Video Notice (Optional): We may take photos/videos during visits for social media. If your group requires no photos, please notify us in writing before your visit.
