Local Delivery, Shipping and Product Fulfillment Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Thank you for choosing Lovely Hen. This Local Delivery, Shipping and Product Fulfillment Policy explains how delivery, setup, pickup, service-area eligibility, scheduling, and product fulfillment work for the Hatch a Lovely Chick™ 28-Day Educational Hatching Program and other Lovely Hen products.
The Hatch Program Is Not Shipped
The Hatch a Lovely Chick™ program is a hands-on educational service that requires personal delivery, equipment setup, instructions, and scheduled equipment pickup.
The Hatch a Lovely Chick™ program is not available for shipping.
The program cannot be mailed or shipped because it may includes full service setup. It includes fertile hatching eggs, incubation equipment, brooder equipment, educational materials, supplies, and other items that must be transported and set up carefully.
Purchasing the program does not create an agreement for Lovely Hen to deliver the program outside its approved local service area.
Local Delivery Only
The Hatch a Lovely Chick™ program is available through scheduled local delivery to qualifying:
-
Schools
-
Daycares and childcare centers
-
Libraries
-
Homeschool families and groups
-
Community organizations
-
Educational facilities
-
Private residences
Lovely Hen is based in Southampton Township, New Jersey. Local delivery is generally available within approximately 60 miles of ZIP code 08088, depending on the customer’s exact location, scheduling availability, travel conditions, and program requirements.
Being located within 60 miles does not automatically guarantee delivery. Every delivery address must be reviewed and approved by Lovely Hen.
Other Lovely Hen Products
Lovely Hen may also offer products such as:
-
Fertile hatching eggs
-
Chicks and other live poultry
-
Fresh herbs
-
Fresh-cut or seasonal flowers
-
Other farm-grown or farm-raised products
These products may be available through scheduled local pickup, approved local delivery, or another fulfillment method specifically listed on the product page.
Customers should not assume that a product is eligible for shipping unless shipping is clearly offered on the product page and at checkout.
Product availability may be limited by season, hatch dates, harvest schedules, weather, inventory, and animal health.
No Returns on Any Products
All Lovely Hen product sales are final.
Lovely Hen does not accept returns or exchanges on any products, including:
-
Live chicks
-
Other live animals
-
Fertile hatching eggs
-
Fresh herbs
-
Fresh flowers
-
Perishable products
-
Farm products
-
Program supplies
-
Seasonal items
Live animals, hatching eggs, herbs, flowers, and other perishable products cannot be returned or resold after they leave Lovely Hen’s care.
Because of their live, fragile, and perishable nature, Lovely Hen does not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges based on a customer changing their mind, improper care, unsuccessful hatching, plant or flower deterioration, or circumstances occurring after pickup or delivery.
Live Animals and Chicks
All sales of chicks and other live animals are final.
Once a live animal is delivered to or accepted by the customer, the customer assumes full responsibility for its care, housing, feeding, hydration, warmth, sanitation, handling, transportation, and protection.
A chick’s health and survival may be affected by factors including:
-
Brooder temperature
-
Drafts
-
Overheating
-
Chilling
-
Food and water access
-
Improper feed
-
Dehydration
-
Stress
-
Rough handling
-
Overcrowding
-
Unsanitary conditions
-
Exposure to pets or other animals
-
Transportation conditions
-
Illness
-
Failure to follow care instructions
Lovely Hen takes reasonable care to provide healthy chicks at the time of pickup or delivery. However, survival after the animal enters the customer’s care cannot be guaranteed.
Chicks and other live animals are not eligible for return, exchange, refund, replacement, or store credit after acceptance.
Customers should inspect live animals at the time of pickup or delivery and raise any immediate concerns before leaving the pickup location or while the Lovely Hen representative is still present.
Fertile Hatching Eggs
All sales of fertile hatching eggs are final.
Fertility and hatch rates are not guaranteed. Even properly fertilized eggs may fail to develop or hatch because incubation involves natural biological processes.
Hatching results may be affected by:
-
Incubator accuracy
-
Temperature
-
Humidity
-
Egg storage
-
Egg age
-
Egg positioning
-
Turning schedules
-
Ventilation
-
Power interruptions
-
Improper handling
-
Incubator cleanliness
-
Opening the incubator too often
-
Conditions during lockdown
-
Shipping or transportation conditions
-
Environmental changes
-
Natural embryo development
Once hatching eggs leave Lovely Hen’s care, the customer is responsible for their handling, storage, incubation, and care.
Lovely Hen cannot control the customer’s incubator, electrical supply, temperature, humidity, handling, sanitation, or incubation practices.
For these reasons, unsuccessful hatching does not qualify for a refund, return, exchange, replacement, or store credit.
Fresh Herbs and Flowers
Fresh herbs, fresh-cut flowers, seasonal flowers, and similar farm products are perishable and are not eligible for return or exchange.
Their freshness and usable life may be affected by:
-
Temperature
-
Sun exposure
-
Watering
-
Refrigeration
-
Transportation
-
Handling
-
Storage conditions
-
Weather
-
Time after harvest
-
Customer care
Customers should inspect herbs and flowers at the time of pickup or delivery.
Once accepted, deterioration, wilting, drying, damage, or reduced freshness caused by customer handling, storage, weather, transportation, or care does not qualify for a refund, exchange, replacement, or credit.

Lovely Hen does not accept unscheduled visitors.
Customers must arrive within the confirmed pickup window and bring suitable transportation and containers when required.
For chick pickup, customers may be required to bring or use an appropriate ventilated carrier that protects the chicks from drafts, excessive heat, cold, stress, and injury.
A customer who arrives without proper transportation may be refused pickup until safe arrangements are made.
Changes to the Delivery Address
Customers must notify Lovely Hen before changing a delivery address.
A new address may:
-
Fall outside the service area
-
Require additional mileage

Require additional tolls
-
Change the delivery schedule

Require an additional delivery fee
An address change is not approved until Lovely Hen confirms it in writing.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.
If the address, room number, contact information, school name, or access instructions are incorrect or incomplete, Lovely Hen may be unable to complete delivery.
The customer may be responsible for additional costs resulting from:
-

-
Additional tolls
-

The facility is closed

Lovely Hen is kept waiting beyond a reasonable period
If delivery cannot be completed for a customer-related reason, the customer may be charged an additional delivery, mileage, waiting-time, product-preparation, or rescheduling fee.
A missed delivery or pickup does not qualify for a refund.
Perishable products, prepared hatching eggs, or live animals that are not picked up as scheduled may not remain available for a later date.

Schools and organizations should ensure that the designated contact person is available during the agreed delivery window.
Excessive waiting caused by security delays, unavailable staff, locked buildings, classroom changes, or missing access information may result in:
-
A shortened setup or instruction period
-
A revised appointment
-
A waiting-time charge
-
An additional delivery fee
-
Rescheduling of the program
Severe Weather and Unsafe Travel Conditions
Lovely Hen may postpone delivery, service visits, product pickups, or equipment pickup when weather or road conditions could create a safety risk.

Snow or ice
-
Flooding

High winds
-
Dangerous heat or cold
-
Road closures
-
Government travel warnings
-
School or facility closures
-
Other emergencies
When Lovely Hen postpones service because of unsafe conditions, we will work with the customer to arrange a new available date when appropriate.
Weather-related postponements do not automatically qualify for a refund.
School Closures and Customer Schedule Changes
If a school, daycare, library, organization, or home becomes unavailable for a confirmed program delivery date, the customer must contact Lovely Hen as soon as possible.
Hatch program purchases are final and nonrefundable. Eligible program bookings may be moved to a future available date under the Lovely Hen Refund and Rescheduling Policy.
The rescheduled program must generally take place within one year of the original scheduled program date.
Product orders involving live animals, hatching eggs, herbs, flowers, or other perishable items may not always be eligible for rescheduling because availability and condition may be tied to a specific hatch, harvest, or pickup date.
Incubator and Equipment Pickup
The incubator, brooder, feeder, waterer, containers, and other reusable program equipment remain the property of Lovely Hen unless the product description or written agreement states otherwise.
Lovely Hen will arrange a date or delivery window to retrieve equipment at the end of the program.
The customer must:
-
Keep all Lovely Hen equipment together
-
Make the equipment available for pickup
-
Provide access at the confirmed time
-
Return equipment in reasonably clean condition
-
Report damaged or missing items
-
Ensure an authorized adult is present
Failure to make equipment available may result in additional pickup, mileage, waiting-time, replacement, or late-return charges.

Once program equipment has been delivered and set up, the customer is responsible for protecting it from:
-
Loss
-
Theft
-
Breakage

Water damage
-
Pet damage
-
Unauthorized handling
-
Improper cleaning
-
